If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you’ll probably want to know about ‘Caught in the Rye’ is that they're a Montreal-based country rock band. Sure, Mike Di Re and Jordano Battista were once just a couple of witty bastards from the ‘burbs, but they got this real thing for country music. The classic stuff – think Marty Robbins and Hank Williams – but, they're not like stuck in the past or anything. They also take inspiration from Chris Stapleton, Wilco, and Gillian Welch. It's like mixing the old and the new, you know?Anyway, their music’s got this way of painting pictures in your head; it’s like you're right there with them on some dusty road or watching the sunset on the prairie. And now they got a full band with them, too: Jake, Brydone, Tamara, and Kento. Together, they’re this big, harmonious family telling a helluva good story with damn smooth harmonies. It’s also melodic as hell.
